Cheap.

I've been reading a lot of blogs lately. I enjoy reading blogs. Mostly blogs about food or crafting. I enjoy both food and crafting. A lot. So hence, I read a lot of blogs.

I'm going to focus today's post mostly on craft blogs. Now, I am a big-time crafty person. I'm the person that my managers will come to if they have something that needs creating because I'm creative. And I like that. My biggest stregnth at work (which is not a creative job normally) is creating. Games, motivators, contests - these are fun things to create, and If I can get crafty with them, you'd better believe I will have the glitter out, the Silhouette tweedling away, and the hot glue gun ready to go.

This really isn't about work though... Sometimes when I'm surfing the interwebs via Craftgawker or Pinterest, or even linking through other crafty blogs, I have noticed one word that draws me in, but I've really come to despise it a little:

Cheap.

I don't know if it's because Easter is right around the corner, or if it's because I'd really like to consider keeping chickens, the word "cheap" has popped up and is a beacon to my brain.

Now I like cheap things just as much as the next crafter/blogger and a cheap project is just my cup of tea. There's nothing better than getting craft supplies on the cheap. Ribbon on sale? Yes, please. Coupon for 40% off that Martha Stewart glitter I've been oogling over for EVER? You'd better believe it!

But CHEAP. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. I feel like a chick is in my head cheeping away every time I read that word.

Now I don't think I'll ever stop reading my dear blogs about all the crafty goodness, but every time I see the word "cheap" I have to replace it in my head with "inexpesive", "low-dollar", "practically free", or some other word one would find in the thesaurus under "cheap". Cheap is just a silly word. And a little low-dollar. So, dear reader, if I ever get around to posting something crafty and cheap, I'll do the work for you and use the thesaurus.

Do you have a word that really gets in your head? What is it? I'll try to avoid if for you. Even if I have to buy a new thesaurus.

Blogs

When life hits, there are many ways to respond. Life gives us all lots of things: lemons, family, friends. This blog is for when life gives me anything. I'll post, maybe someone will read it, feel inspired? Angry? Happy? I dunno. But whatever life gives me, I'll take it, and find something to do with it.

I am a crafter, so don't worry if you see a lot of crafty things. Maybe you'll be inspired to make something too. I also like to bake, and my husband is a chef, so you could see recipes. Maybe then you'll be inspired to cook. Whatever may come up, I hope that we can all get to know each other and ourselves a little better and learn to take what life gives us and make do.
